This book really caught my attention from the very start. Most people say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. I did though; the cover really caught my attention, so I read it. It is black with neon purple writing on it.

“Wake” is about a girl named Janie. Janie goes into people’s dreams unintentionally. Her whole body goes numb, so she cannot move. It is even worse if it is a nightmare. If she gets so far away, or closes a door or window the connection will drop. What that means is she will not be in the dream anymore. Her best friends name is Carrie, who is also her next door neighbor. Janie’s mom is an alcoholic, who doesn’t buy anything except alcohol.

Lisa McMann is the author of this book. I personally am reading the next book in the series and it is amazing just like the first one. Her writing style is intriguing. She got me hooked on this book from the start to the end. This book is a young adult novel. McMann is a very good author. And I look forward to seeing more form her.

I did stop reading this book until I was done with it. It got my attention from the first page to the last page. This novel was very easy to comprehend, which I like. You don’t have to reread parts of it if you didn’t understand it.

“Wake” is the book to read if you are bored on a snow day, long trip or on the weekend. When you are reading it, time goes by way too fast. “Wake” is a phenomenal book. Give it a try, you won’t regret it!
