I can confidently say that Miles Morales Spider-Man written by #1 New York Times bestselling author Jason Reynolds that this book will zone you in. As a person like many I can conclude that many of us read books we didn’t like. Jason Reynolds is best known for writing young adult books, but what makes this book unique is that it isn’t like any other mainstreamed spider-man with Peter Parker a white guy, he is a young black individual written by a black author. This book talks about a teenager named Miles Morales and the pressure he has to endure like himself. I feel that many teenagers who pick up this book can relate to Miles on certain levels. What’s more Miles is alone saving the world and with the pressure from his personal life it can really affect his mental well-being. Throughout the book it is constantly mentioning Miles to find yourself first before anything. As your mental health is important. This book Miles Morales Spider-Man is a great book for teens because I felt that I could relate to a character and many others can too.

Miles Morales Spider-Man is a book targeted towards young adults like teenagers and it is about finding yourself even with tension in your life. For me, sometimes being a teenager can be stressful. Like for many people going to school or some adults you know always on your back. My point is that the book can show you different approaches to these situations and help you become more mentally strong and make things better for everything. This book isn’t like your typical superhero book in that the hero just goes around destroying villains with this perfect hero mentality. This book gives a more indepth behind the hero like Miles, he is a teenager. He likes playing video games, hanging out with friends, and crushing over a girl. With the extra pressure of being a hero and personal life he has to balance it or else it gets wonky. For me, I can relate to the pressure to an extent, as I felt it before. For example, when a test is just around the corner, it can really mess me up because I wanna go do my own things, but the fear of not studying enough nags at me. Like Miles he mirrors this because even though there's a lot of tension with his superhero life and personal life he stills reflects on himself to become better which this book nudged me to take control of my life. If you are interested in trying to find a character you could relate to and even help better yourself I would recommend this book as I liked how it helped me reflect on myself.

The most interesting character in my book was Miles Morales. What made him so different from any other spider-man or character was that he is a young black teenager which he can appeal to those who feel as if they are alone and can’t relate to. Most spider-man books or films it's always the mainstreamed white guy playing spider-man. And it’s worth noting that this book is written by a black author, Jason Reynolds. I think he really shows a different side of superheroes as there's not many black superheroes that are known. In the book Miles faces challenges to his life rather than with his education or his superhero life but, through his development he matures more and deepens an understanding of himself. With this character and his characteristics I can relate to him. For example, one of my struggles as I said before was balancing my life and prioritizing my well-being. After reading this book, I realized I see myself in the main character. Sometimes I slip and make mistakes which can throw me off balance. Miles Morales keeps going forward and grows from it. In the future I will keep going as mistakes don’t define who you are and I better balanced my life out.

I would recommend this book to teenagers or young adults interested in self-care and developing a positive mindset on reading. One major reason why people don’t like to read is that they can’t relate to the book or character. For example, Miles Morales is a teenager which most young people can relate to and what the book is trying to tell us is about finding yourself first and the importance of mental health. In the book, Miles is relatable as he would to endure many stresses like his academics and as it goes on, his development in the story helped figure out who he is. With this mindset of slowed development with a more positive approach, this book can help you figure out yourself too.

If you are interested in a book that you can better understand yourself and change your view on books, as well as experiencing a whole different approach to superheroes, you should buy the book or check it out at your local library As it helped me, someone who don’t like reading books, it can surely help you too.

What inspired me to write this book review is that many kids I know and online. Kids don't like reading what so ever. I think this is because kids don't read the right books and can't relate to the book or character. Which is why I wrote this book review I as a person do not like reading but reading this book made me realize it isn't just words on a page, but more.
