Peak Book Review

Have you ever wanted to learn what climbing Mount Everest is like, which is a real test of strength? Then Peak is a good book for you. This book was written by Roland Smith, a book about a father and son who travel all the way to Mount Everest. Peak who is the son is an adventurous and kind person who would end up getting in trouble in his home city which would force him to move to Thailand with his dad, Josh, who is a daring but self-centered person. Their family is a big climbing family so since they had to move to Thailand, Peaks, dad decided to climb Mount Everest. While Josh is getting gear ready, Peak explores the wonders of Kathmandu with a new friend he made named Sun-Jo. They climb Mount Everest with a group of people including Sun-Jo. They advance to two different base camps up the mountain before making their way up the mountain.

I think what Roland Smith did well was give good detail about the characters throughout the book because it was easy to find the characteristics of the characters in the story. I like the book because I liked the concept of a treacherous journey up a mountain. The reason I kept reading was that the main plot of the story was about different places eventually leading up to the climb up Mount Everest. I felt that this book was a good choice for me because I like the person vs nature conflict when Peak battles to climb the mountain. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure/survival realistic fiction type books because I think that this book would be a good choice for them.
