In the article titled “Overgrown Anxieties,” written by Hazel Shanks, talks about the way anxiety feels. I can relate to this in many ways. Reading this I could understand the feeling of anxiety and how she interpreted it into words. The text seems like she is trying to tell us what an anxiety feels like by comparing it to other things such as the vines that smother her in the text. The author wrote,“The constant flutters keep me queasy and awake.” This seems to reflect how anxiety keeps some people up at night worrying or overthinking. I can make out this feeling because I also deal with anxiety and it's not easy. The author puts the feeling into words more creatively and in a way people could try to understand more. She wrote, “I am slowly being suffocated,” which describes how anxiety can feel like one is being suffocated by thoughts and fears.
