Hi, my dear readers!

I’m gonna tell you about a book by Eric Linklater called “The Wind on the Moon”. I hope I will be able to read the other two children novels by Eric Linklater which are “The Pirates in the Deep” and “Karina with Love”. Everything started on the night when there was a wind on the moon. “If it is an ill wind, and you behave badly, it will blow straight in your heart, and then you will behave badly for a long time to come.” said Major Palfrey, who was packing because he should go to a foreign country, to his daughters. But Dinah and Dorinda, how much they tried they could not behave themselves. When they thought they were behaving well, grown-ups thought they behaved badly indeed. They already made some mischief before their dad went away, by trying to help pack dad’s trunk. But instead they just squashed all his clothes. After their dad left they behaved not less mischievously. One day, they decided to take revenge on the people who had pinned and poked them when they ate too much and became as fat as balloons by turning into kangaroos and scaring the people. Mrs Grimble, who was an old woman who knew magic, and at the same time was Dinah’s friend, helped the sisters to turn into kangaroos. Unfortunately, while scaring the people, they were caught and locked in a zoo. There they made lots of friends. Their besties were the Golden Puma and the Silver Falcon. All 4 of them wanted freedom. The sisters did lots of mischievous and dangerous things. But will they be able to find who stole the Ostrich’s eggs? Will they be able to get freedom themselves and free their friends by doing mischief which were very dangerous? Soon they learnt that their father was imprisoned in a dungeon by Count Hulagu Bloot, the tyrant of Bombardy, who hated all the other countries and loved to see people tortured and killed. Of course, Dinah and Dorinda wanted to imprison their father but it seemed impossible because Count Hulagu’s castle was guarded very good. But with the help of their music and dance teacher, Mr Corvo, and his friend, Professor Bultek they traveled to the castle. But will they be caught and killed? Or will they be able to steal the keys and escape? Open the book and dive deeply to find the answers. I could not get my eyes out of this book. Sometimes, I felt as if I was there with them laughing, crying... From this book I learnt that sometimes being mischievous is good. If Dinah and Dorinda had behaved well in this situations that they were in, they might have died a long time ago. I recommend this book to everyone, big and small. I hope you will find all your answers in this book. There are some games, questions and facts in the end. Nice reading!
