Mental Toughness on the Mats
A big round of applause for Eric Fang for his article, Mental Toughnesson the Mats". Mental toughness is the key to success in any sport. If you have great athletic ability but a doubtful state of mind, you will not be able to perform to the best of your ability because you have so much negativity going through your head. The young boy wrestling in the article, "doubted his possibility of winning" (Fang 36), he basically lost the match before it was even over. However during the last seconds of the match, his coach had given him powerful words of encouragement. The boy had risen out of his comfort zone and broke the bond his opponent had on him, and scored to win the match.
