Windmark Beach Sunrise Café
I went to Port Saint Joe, Florida for a week during spring break, and almost every morning we went to Windmark Beach Sunrise Café to get breakfast and a drink. We would also go there later in the day to get ice cream.
This little cafe is located in a gated community right off the beach in Port Saint Joe, Florida. This is a family-owned and operated cafe and the workers are very friendly and welcoming. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also, they sell T-shirts and other clothes. All kinds of people from children to adults come to this cafe. It is in the middle of the community with other little shops and restaurants. The community is mostly traveled by golf carts and walkers because it has boardwalks everywhere.
The cafe is on the bottom floor of a 3-story building. There are several tables outside and when you walk into the cafe there are several more tables and a couple of couches to sit on. They have the whole menu on two tv’s that are right above the register and to the right are coolers of different flavors of ice cream that you can look at and pick from. The cafe has a beachy theme and is very clean.
One of the things I got there for breakfast was a bagel sandwich that had an egg, bacon, and American cheese served on a bagel of your choice. The bacon and egg were seasoned perfectly and the cheese was warm and gooey. With this sandwich, I would get an iced chai. It had the perfect amount of flavor, not too strong or too dull with warm, comforting spices. They had many breakfast options like a biscuit sandwich, wheat toast sandwich, egg & cheese sandwich, sausage, egg, & cheese melt, waffle with syrup, and a lox bagel. During my stay, I wasn’t able to eat lunch there but they served a club sandwich, ham grilled cheese, chicken melt, caprese press, BLT, turkey Reuben press, and ham & turkey on a bagel. They also offer a kids' menu that has grilled cheese, PB&J, and a cereal cup.
They have about 15 different flavors of ice cream and I tried a lot of different flavors. Some of my favorites were cookies and cream, and cotton candy. You have the choice to pick a dish or a cone to put it in and there are options of different sprinkles that you can ask to be put on the ice cream. Their ice cream was very refreshing after a long day at the beach. The cookies and cream ice cream had the perfect ratio of ice cream and Oreos. It was the perfect texture being soft and smooth. The cotton candy was Italian ice so it kinda tasted like a slushie but in ice cream form. The flavor was perfect and sweet while the ice texture was very cooling and different.
I loved this little cafe. The food was delicious, and the drinks were made perfectly. It had everything you would want after a long day on a hot beach, or for your morning coffee. Windmark Beach Sunrise Cafe is a must-visit if you ever find yourself in Port Saint Joe.
