Escape in Time
There are many escape rooms available in the world to go out with your friends and have fun. Most are really costly and don't give you the adrenaline rush that you should get, especially when the room is made cheap. But Escape in Time, located in Madison, WI, is a welcome exception and offers a better experience.
Escape in Time offers eight rooms for different age groups so that kids or adults can enjoy. As you walk into the building you are greeted by a mysterious audio. you enter into a room which is an entire candy store. The doors lock and a mysterious woman talks through the speakers, giving you hints to get out. As everyone is immediately confused because they didn't book for the candy store room, they oblige, look for clues and finally figure out where the secret door is, which leads to the front desk and lobby of the actual business. This idea is great. Most companies don't put in the extra effort to make the customers even more intrigued, unlike Escape in time. The candy store room also helps the customer get ready for what is to come in their escape room.
The entire lobby is futuristic themed and that includes the waiting area. Workers are in character and wearing costumes. As you look around the room you see tv’s that show what's happening in the fake candy store, watching the other customers frustrated in the candy store, frantically trying to figure out where they are; this is a great way to pass time as you wait for your room to be set up.
Then when your room is ready, a worker comes to get you and they explain all the rules through a movie based on your specific escape room. Out of all the rooms we picked a room called ‘Cryosleep’ where the entire room feels like you are sitting in a futuristic spaceship. They put you into singular standing pods which are the cryosleep chambers. First you have to get out of those to get into the spaceship with the consoles to get out of the room itself. This room also includes many effects like the ground shaking, beeping noises, the lighting, and different sound effects as you are trying to escape. Most escape rooms only keep padlocks that you have to keep opening to get out, which gets boring but at Escape in Time all of the props are created from America's best theme park prop builders. This really creates the best environment and gives you the most amazing experience. Sometimes you even forget that you are in an escape room because everything feels so realistic.
I would recommend this to everyone especially because it offers rooms for different age groups so everyone can enjoy including adults. This is an amazing place to even bring your co-workers or even just your school friends. For us the difficulty was appropriate for our age and we got out of our room with only seven minutes remaining and $32 for an hour of fun was worth the price. I would definitely bring my friends there again.
