Concerto
The storm, a melody of earnestness,
a harmony. The rain, a steady beat.
Each clap of thunder added emphasis,
a symphony. Two notes waiting to meet.
They’re hovering, anticipating glee.
Air cracks, light falls, tracing a homeward path.
The waves, misgiving, stretch forth, uneasy,
to mirror overhead. The wind’s dark wrath
an undercurrent chorus singing hymns
of swirling skies and wistful clouds, of tides
that swell and rain that shrouds. Of light that dims
in darkened times. The sea of song divides.
Ensemble harmonies, a call, a sign,
it warns a change is coming—it’s divine.
