The Garden of Eden
They sit surrounded by swathes of flowers,
A vibrant kaleidoscope of bright hues,
Their bare skin gleams among the passing hours
As they stay silent and whole in God's view.
The land is bathed in a sea of lush grass,
With monuments of nature errupting
From earth. They have features fragile as glass
And minds free from thoughts of corruption.
They sit with but one message to obey,
An order which dictates their existence,
Yet one creature will lead their thoughts astray,
They will defy God at its insistence.
The land grows dark at human kinds' betrayal,
The skies darken with the clouds of God's rage.
Adam was created as God's portrayal,
Yet he forsook his role on Eden's stage.
Adam and Eve were cast from the garden,
Cloaked in age and begging for God's pardon.

This is my poetic retelling of a classic biblical tale.
