I let you fall
Some may say I lifted you up to high above my head
and that when you came down the drop shocked you
but I believed you needed the fall, even if it did fill you with dread
sometimes you must feel a change to be able to see a different point of view
after the fall I tried to leave so that you could feel the pain
cause people told me it'd help you reavaluate
but I think you work differently, you don't like being released from a cage
even though some see it in different light, more as a chance to escape
you like consistency of a best friend
so when someone lets go you're afraid
your only view of the future is what's about to end
you can't keep your fears controlled you can't keep it tame
so I waited on the side lines while you finished your game
and then as you walked back to me I asked you to come with no shame
