It was time for one of my biggest challenges yet. The first day of high school. I was so nervous when the time came to make such a big adjustment. Teachers, classes, it was all new to me. I didn’t know what to expect really. I’m sure my classmates felt the same way but we was all ready for this day.
The day had came and my nervousness had grown even stronger since the day before but I was still ready. The bus had come and there I got to see some of my friends that I hadn’t seen for quite some time. We carried on conversations until we arrived at school. It was odd when everybody got off at the grammar school because I was the only one left on the bus. It was silent until I walked through the doors of a whole new world. The atmosphere had changed once I found my locker and my classmates. We were all new to high school so we didn’t know what to do at this point. Once we found our homerooms, the day started to get better. A few of my classmates were in my homeroom so I felt more comfortable then I would have by myself. After period 1 was over, it was frustrating to find the next class because I didn’t know how to read my schedule. So, I just grabbed a pencil, and a binder and followed everybody else in hopes that we were headed to the right place. When it came time for break, the hall was crowded with people. Everybody was rushing to different places. Some went to see teachers, and others went to the gym.
Break was over so now it was time to go back to class. After that class was over, it was time for lunch. Lunch was fun because it gave everyone a chance to talk to one another and also eat. The food was great. So were the conversations. Next, the bell rang so that meant it was time for another class. At this point I was beginning to feel much better about high school. It was nothing like I thought it would be. Which was good. Class was over. The last class of the day was here. I was excited. Only a couple more hours and then I could go home and tell my parents about my first day of high school. That last class of the day seemed like it was taking forever to get over. I kept looking at the clock but that only made it seem slower. I couldn’t really focus on the teacher because I was to worried about what time it was. So after some time had passed, I looked up to see what time it was. It was 2:15. Only five more minutes to go before the day was over. The bell rang and I got even more excited. I got on the bus, told my friends that high school wasn’t that bad at all. They were all saying that they couldn’t wait until they were in high school. I enjoyed that day quite a bit. It was a really fun experience and I won’t forget it.
