A Certain Beauty
Like a storm, you blew right past
Your winds made me fly through the air
I knew our time wouldn't last
I knew that you wouldn't always be there
The rain filled me up and made me overflow
The lightning struck me and burnt me to death
The thunder boomed with a voice so low
Sounding as though it was a single breath
You blocked out the light, my only sun
You ripped up my beach and city
Then, like that, the storm was done
And things didn't look pretty
Although, there is a certain beauty in the desperation
Of a life that's in destruction
