My Mom
I have been on this earth for fifteen years
Enough to know what it means to have love
You have been the one to comfort my fears
Holding my hand; watching me from above.
I cannot say we always get along
Since you always tell me never to lie
You would be the first to tell me I’m wrong
And I would get mad and tell you “Just die!”
But I think you and I both know what’s true
Despite the things we say to each other
There is not a time I won’t stand by you
Because above all else, you are my mother.
So remember the next time that we touch
I love you! Oh I love you, so very much.
