This sonnet was written for an assignment in my high school freshman English class. When brainstorming ideas, I sought to find a topic i could prattle on and on about so I would be motivated to actually finish the thing. This sonnet expresses what I have done for many years of my life up until now and I;m sure many other teenagers have also. High school is a time where your parents finally loosen your leash and your free to begin paving your own path. After many years of following our parents or other parental figure's lead, it's a scary time. The world is a much bigger place than we thought it was. Somewhere along the broad horizon, we'll find our light eventually.
