Spring Flowers
A rainbow of colors, dotting the grass,
The air’s overpowered by a sweet scent.
They look as flawless as a looking glass.
Perfect, and poised prettily, while poignant.
But there’s a flaw- on some the stems are snapped.
Because a youngster has gone and trampled
A few fine flowers which were yet untapped
And some which honey bees have now sampled.
Yet among the chaos where the child plays,
On a few, still, the dew drops are settled.
All enjoy the beautiful month of May,
Even bees which hover around the petals.
The sun’s golden light brings life and with it
Happiness, despair, senselessness and wit.
