Waiting
As I watch the sun rise,
ever so gracefully it shines
As I sit and wait the sun starts to revise
the many signs,
that I have seen the night before.
I feel that wonderful feeling that swells inside,
I feel it heat my core.
But then it fades like a tide
and the corners of my mouth start to droop.
How fast you can get that feeling, but just as fast it leaves you.
I hear finally the stomping of the troop
They walk in pairs of two,
and their stern faces don't even turn.
But they walk on by hoping to return.
