Life.
The people all walk the street
Covered in a sense of defeat.
As schoolboys to their books, they loathe life
It’s filled with strife
Without a ray of hope
They are sheep; they follow, sit, and mope.
But if there is a cause,
They become happy beyond belief.
They are filled with a sense of relief,
Life is looked at with a smile
That stays for a while.
But then that cause disappears,
And defeat and frowns appear.
That is the way of life.
