Forbidden
What I would give to be back there with you,
To feel your warmth against the cool brisk air?
Your tight embrace under a sky so blue,
To live and breathe with you without a care.
Alone, we hoped that we would not be found.
No one to tell us that we couldn’t be.
Forbidden, we hid, safe, without a sound.
Our sacred place we had, under that tree.
But what we had, I will never forget.
I wish we didn’t have to say goodbye.
I’ll always treasure that first day we met.
I wish there could be a good reason why.
Now death has taken you away to sleep.
So now this memory, I will always keep.
