Gone Away
He has gone and walked out that door
The house shakes as that door closes
But he has gone away several times before
All I can do is watch as he goes
There’s not much a little girl can do
The way the world works is like a harsh close up
I never had to see this sad view before
He will never be there to watch me grow up
He appears now and again, once in a blue moon
Conversation is always stiff and graceless
Always saying text me or call me soon
I just nod and keep my expression faceless
I know he’s left for good this time, no maybe
But I will always be his little baby
