At Night
In darkness I dwell even in the day
I find my home where lethal light is lacking
I fade in sun but own the night as trade
In shadows its said you can hear me laughing.
I am accursed by all who know my name
But don’t pay heed, for I must have freedom
To my detractors I wish thee the same
Ground bound are they, they miss on all my fun.
Perhaps I do miss my old life a touch
It saddens me to lack a family
While some seek solace in the arms of love
My freedom means I seek it within me
Perhaps I’ll try to live within the light
Don’t think I’ll like it, but, you know, I might.
