White Roses
White roses whisper together in the breeze
Singing as one; a lullaby in the night
The sunrise comes; with it fearful new day
Pain meets the flowers with animals' steps
As if the fire has met them, touch turned black
The loss of one hurts all, flames swept like wind
A human appears in reaper's cloak of black
Cuts away flow'rs with a merciless hand
Bodies lay scattered, but get up by dark
Souls born in hope blackened by heartlessness
Like one being, happiness leaves with dusk
They start to sing sad songs of desperate loss
But wind comes and white petals lift in praise
Pure, joyful songs float in the night again
