What time have we left to spend together?
Whatever time, it will have been too brief.
I am but an ignorant traveler,
Trekking upon a path of joy and grief.
Old tree, marching by you, although rarely,
This path of mine comes upon fair weather.
Your countenance warms frigid winter air,
Under your shade I find drier shelter.
Wise tree, your leaves whisper of countless years,
Hard-fought wisdom falling upon me now;
The fruits of your story now do appear,
You too have endured winter's heavy snow.
Life upon this Earth won’t forever last,
I will cherish your warmth, never to pass.
