Preserving the Old Era
Silly girls, painted dolls, empty heads, smiles.
Who needs to dig deeper than the outside?
their siren calls loud, so perfect their wiles.
How man' of these women can say they tried?
Quiet, quiet. unsubtle are their cries.
We've come very far from elegance
all's moving, late relations to deny.
Gone are the days of dresses and temp'rnce.
Telled me how to hide and I will go.
Like innocence tainted by blood on snow.
