Wood Left Adrift
Along the secluded warm beach was found,
The once fully thriving piece of driftwood,
He now laying still and declared no good.
Time had sunken him down half in the ground;
His body split from the waves’ mighty pound.
Powerless to stop them, yet try he could,
However his efforts proved him no good.
He badly dreamed of a place safe and sound.
After a many tiring long days
His head hit sand and he could no more move.
Sand all ‘round, water tortured him no more.
Realized he had now become rather smooth
In the glorious sun joyfully bays
The drift of wood left a shore to adore.
