Winter's Here
With every step, snow crunches underneath./
The bitter cold creeps onto me slowly./
Artificial birds sway upon a wreath./
Tattered ski pants; green as guacamole./
Whether trudging through the thick after-mass,/
or scraping the stubborn ice off the car,/
you frequently end up late for your class./
And when it's really bad, you can't see far./
Bundles up with blankets and hot cocoa,/
can make any snow day ten times better./
Children build Frosty with a large shadow./
When warming up, ice melts from their sweater./
It is winter again, as you can see,/
In little 'ole South Plainfield, New Jersey.
