Beauty Kills
Her pale, ivory skin contrasts against
the thick black curls of hair that frame her face
Ring of endearment down the drain, he sensed
the truth; her love is in another place
Deceit was behind the rose colored lips
that matched blood-red wine in her trembling hand
How could she ask for another man's kiss?
A victim of love was not what he planned
Bottle half empty, he looked in her eyes
Swiftly he slit her throat from where he stood
Numbed by the amber, he saw past her lies
And her black lace dress was crimson with blood
to match roses on her grave by the hills
The roses with the card signed "Beauty Kills."
