Walking On
Dim and dark
The sunken dreams
No hope no light
By any means
And he walks down
The narrow road
No jacket no home
To call his own
No one will notice
No one will stare
No one will help
No one will care
In the land of justice
He walks on glass
Splintered wood
Mounds of trash
This is the land of hope
The land of “Yes We Can”
Of liberation
Of helping hands
But he walks continuously
Though no one could care
Nothing to give
Nothing to share
He pauses his walk
On an abandoned lawn
But he believes
And he walks on
