Sonnet I
I try to tell you how you make me think
But the words come too fast and I can't speak
My breathing stops and my heart's twisted beat
Breaks with the time of the my brain pulsating
Now my love leaks through my mouth to your skin
The words won't reach you but my hands seem to
They wish to touch you, like I'm touched, within
But I can't make love just like you do.
So as I trace the lips I long to kiss
And stare at myself in your forlorn eyes
I question how we ever got to this
The thrumming of my heart renews surprise --
With the sound of your voice filling my dreams
I know there is no need for other things.
