Can The Ocean Be My Friend?
I stand upon the old dock by the sea
As the warm summer comes to a slow end
I want to thank you for being my friend
And I hope you will be thinking of me
In the time we spent I felt the most free
Because, your courage and strength you did lend
And my personality you did mend
I fear the time sans you will pass slowly
But you changed my soul to something anew
When you brought me down to your very floor
And living isn’t so hard without you
But now I find myself wanting much more
Because you taught me not to be afraid
From my memory you will never fade
