Vigor of the Heart
A heart that beats may start a creature new.
Incased in flesh and bone this being dwells,
Four limbs and face affix composed of cells,
From what of this physique can we construe?
Doth something lie beneath the skin, and through
The tang’ble matter known? A source rebels
From heart and mind to make a spirit swell
With strength, and thus uniting one of two.
Of those existeth without blood, who be
Alive yet not with pulse, what spirit lie?
Do those that have no heart, have spirit none?
Those not of shape, a must, to some degree,
Contain the vigor of the heart; defy
Dear mother nature, laws of life undone.
