What I Envy
they look so confident flaunting their feathers,
I envy,
When their beauty is put on top pedestals,
I envy.
My mirror deceives me, the tricks it plays can be so harming,
seeing something I never asked for, that isn’t mine,
Seeing only illusions of icky, yucky, disgusting,
seeing a chest I never asked for, that isn’t mine.
I know others wish to have my feather but, I wish I was just them!
they are the ones who figured it out,
Because having the hourglass shape of mine, was never part of the dream,
they are ones the who gotten it right.
So I see every slash, seem, scar, to create that bloody body;
it will be worth all the pain in the world to get what I envy.

A sonnet related to my body dysphoria that comes with being nonbinary, you never know how your body should look like but you have this forever feeling that something is off so you tend to envy the people that are comfortable in their bodies.
