A Different Kind of Home
A Different Kind of Home
The thought of ‘home’ brought a structure to my eyes,
Four walls that within a family dwelled.
From the weather this family hides
Inside the protection this home held.
A place in which lives were built,
Finding their way to who they would become;
In a healthy process without guilt
Where problems faced would be overcome.
The thought of home now travels around
No longer at a standstill, it has a heartbeat.
From one idea of home to another, I shall be bound
To this new home whose lips taste so sweet.
Once home was a thought for which I felt as a place;
Because of him, however, that is no longer the case.

This piece is inspired by my first and only boyfriend (we are still together). There isn't a perfect way to explain it, he just feels like 'home'.
