Autumn
Resting under the dusky maple leaves
The color of freshly baked gingerbread
Inhaling the sweet yet crisp Autumn breeze
Even though all life is drooping down dead
The sun beams down gently warming my face
Whirling winds turn my nose ever rosy
As I join the bright leaves in endless chase
I yearn to leave the cold and be cozy
I rush to my friend's suburban shelter
Licking my chapped blue lips to warm them
Wish my scarf would not fight with the weather
To warm my hands I pull on my gloves' hem
I don’t know how I can feel this cheery
When everything will turn gray and dreary
