The Seagull and the Sea
As I glide above you
I think not of my true need
For food you aren’t just to me, Blue
The glittering waves, to me, feed
Oh, aren’t we a pair?
The deep Blue, the gliding gull
Together we are rare
Like the barnacle to the boat’s hull
My wings soar to see the sea
White speckles above the deep
My brothers flit beside me
But yours is the company I’d keep
Blue you’ll ever be mine
Oh what it is to see your surf shine
