Latino Marginalization
strong hands brown skin hard working souls pushed down
new country new language new home new strength
constantly pushed down by those who are scared
Children living in shame and some in fear
ICE takes pride in destroying families
“To keep us safe”, they say, “to stop their crime”
we are scared for something we didn’t do
they choose not to see our success and purpose
they choose not to understand our cultures
they choose to mock our broken english
but it is our choice to answer with hate
to treat them like they treat us, with disrespect
or to live a greater life and be proud
so our roots will never be forgotten
