Grounds covered in blankets of white
A peppermint aroma fills the air
Gifts placed under the tree with care
Cocoa sipped by the fire at night,
After a day full of snowball fights.
Gingerbread houses and cookies to share.
Leave some out for Santa, and a glass of milk to pair.
Tuck in the children, tell them “sleep tight.”
They toss and they turn waiting
for morning light,
And when they wake, they run down the stairs
