A Small Tribute To My Father
Taking hold of things above, trying, anyway,
My life is set before me, and I watch, I learn, I pray.
I am not wise, will not be soon, unfortunately true
But still, there's much to learn, much I can construe
I know of duties I'm expected to fulfill
Working, praying, caring, roles to fill
I try and figure it on my own, just me
But it is difficult, to say the least, and hard to see.
Yet I have hope to light my path, to show me truth and right.
An example of the finest soul who's full of God's good light.
He shows me what to hold as highest in its worth
He demonstrates a passion, love, and a quiet mirth
A model kind of man and father, making sure his family''s safe.
He talks with me alone, he teaches me to pray.
I have the finest example of a father this world could ask for
And I hope to live the way he does, to do all this and more.
