Once Upon a Time There was a Knight
Once upon a time, there was a knight,
he went to knight school, where he learned to fight.
His name was Timmy Tom, he was ready to go,
to fight the fights and put on a great show.
But there was an evil queen of magic, black
who was always lookin’ ‘round for a dragon snack.
And the knights all disappeared one by one
to join the queen with her dragon fun.
And the queen held captive a pretty girl,
with big blue eyes, and bouncy curls.
Promises made the girl did betray,
so the dragon came and took her away.
[CHORUS]
And a knight had to slay the dragon, to save the princess,
and perhaps then he’d gain her love interest.
The queen would then fly a flag of white,
and honorable and heroic would be the knight.
Timmy Tom grabbed his sword and took his shield
and ran right through the queen’s thorny fields.
He’d do anything for a lovely lady,
even though she was a slight bit shady.
He banged on the doors and yelled “open up!”
to which was answered with a dragon huff.
The doors, suddenly, burst into flames
and this was the start of the slaying games.
[CHORUS]
And a knight had to slay the dragon, to save the princess,
and perhaps then he’d gain her love interest.
The queen would then fly a flag of white,
and honorable and heroic would be the knight.
So the knight raised his sword and stepped right in
and the dragon cackled with a wicked grin.
“You’ll never kill me!” the dragon said.
“Well let’s see what you say when you are dead!”
The battle was vicious and lasted long,
and Timmy Tom didn’t stop ‘til the dragon was gone.
Then he looked around for the flag of white,
but to his dismay, it wasn’t in sight!
[CHORUS]
And a knight was to slay the dragon, to save the princess,
and perhaps then he’d gain her love interest.
The queen would then fly a flag of white,
“But, oh! Where is it?” wondered the knight.
Well then a voice said, “I am the queen!”
and there stood a girl with blue eyes that gleamed.
Mouth hanging open and full of shock,
the knight realized that he’d just been a prop.
The queen had used him for dragon bait,
Timmy Tom realized this a bit too late.
He sat on the floor and cried and cried
for his wish for love had been denied.
A new dragon flew in and up he was gobbled,
the dragon was so full he teetered and wobbled.
The queen patted the dragon on the head,
and told him it was about time for bed.
[CHORUS]
And a knight was to slay the dragon, to save the princess,
and perhaps then he’d gain her love interest.
The queen would then fly a flag of white,
but the princess was the queen and now dead was the knight.
Once upon a time, there was a knight,
he went to knight school, where he learned to fight.
His name was Timmy Tom, he was ready to go,
until the queen came along and ruined his show.
Just a little children's tune :)
