A pocketful of stardust
Makes the old man cry
Reminds him of the yesteryears
And the time that has passed by
Reminds him of his family
Of his lovers and even his enemy
A pocketful of stardust makes the old man cry

He cries, yet he’s silent
So the world carries on
He’s no different to the others
So they just carry on
Though his memories stay with him
And his heart, it is strong
The world, the world carries on

They sing a song of sixpence
They wrap it in a ribbon
And emphasise its greatness
Without much prevail
They play it on a record
They write it in the sand
They try in every single way they can

But there’s no use
So the world carries on
It’s no different to the others
So they just carry on
The lights, they shine brighter
But the room, it turns colder
So the world, the world carries on

Ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh

There’s no use
So the world carries on
It’s no different to the others
So they just carry on
The lights, they shine brighter
But the world, it turns colder
It just carries on

Without a care
It just carries on
