Pretty Young Thing
oh
pretty young thing
with the stars in her eyes
still new at it all
on her way
up to the top
but she doesn’t know...
she doesn’t know
you know what they say
about innocence
you can hide
you can try
but it just don’t last
not in place like this
what is this you may ask
it’s the lights and the crowds
screaming your name
as you scream out loud
they say you’re lucky
to have gotten this far
but you know deep inside
you still want more
oh
pretty young thing
with the stars in her eyes
seeing only the daylight
on her way
up to the top
but she doesn’t know...
she doesn’t know yet
starstuck
and
overwhelmed
it seems just like a dream
but you only see what you want to
it’s not as pretty underneath
when you’re over and done
you’ll look back on this day
if only you could
what would you say
oh
pretty young thing
i can still see stars in your eyes
you have seen the other side
now you’re on your way
up to the top
now you know
now you know
