Painted smiles (draft version)
Painted smiles on painted faces
Witness my rise to grace
Hallow words fill up the spaces,
the emptiness inside
Wary eyes on wary faces,
fill (up)the audience's spaces
they sense the end is near
I knock on the door for my cold embrace
In the dark I think I see your face,
but you're not there and you’re not there
and I'm left, with the echo of the life, I could have had
La lala, la la la, Lala la
da dada, dada, da da, da da da
Broken strings break the silence
My expression is ‘priceless’
It’s almost over now
Painted smiles on painted faces
Witness my fall from grace
Hallow words fill up the spaces,
and hide from the light
Wary eyes on wary faces,
fill (up)the audience's spaces
Waiting for the final blow
