It took a while to get used to this,
I knew there would be people and things I'd miss,
but I've come a long way since back then,
and that is somewhere I'm never going again.

Because it's a thousand miles to where I've come,
and these old haunted feelings have gone numb,
I've got a better life here among my kind,
and it's good to leave the past all behind.

I never dreamed I would get this far,
and I never dreamed I would find my heart,
but I've gotten braver and stronger on the way,
and I'm standing on my own two feet today.

Cause it's a thousand miles to where I've come,
and my doubtful feelings have gone numb,
and it feels so good to clear my mind,
and leave the past all behind.

And it's all right now in my wonderful world,
never would believe what life's unfurled,
and I can't stop this journey to look behind,
because all that matters is my uphill climb.

Thank you so much, it's been a long year for me, so this is like my 'We Are the Champions' song lol. (btw I've been sick chonically so things have gotten better so that's what I refer to in the song.)

Awesome, inspiring song! I love when you say "I'm standing on my own two feet today."
