High School Love Affair
He Standin' in the hallway,
with a pretty, tall, brunette,
He looked and glanced my way,
and our eyes just met.
I felt a tingle in my heart,
a floating on the air,
and that was the start,
of my High School Love Affair,
He was 6' 3'' and smiled so bright,
he was so smart and funny,
played every Friday night,
he knew all the words to make my heart melt honey,
yeah, my high school love affair.
He took me out to some little diner,
where we ordered pizza and talked,
he said he'd never seen some one finer,
and after we walked,
he took my hand,
and kissed me in the moonlight,
I could barely stand,
when he smiled and said goodnight,
aw, my high school love affair.
Things were going great,
until that little blonde came around,
he was always late,
he never made a sound.
Maybe I was silly to believe,
that he was the one,
for him it was easy to leave,
and I just watched him run.
He was standing in the hallway,
with the pretty, blonde starlett,
he looked and glanced my way,
and our eyes met.
She tugged on his hair,
his attention gone away,
they kissed standing there,
and my heart broke that day,
the ending of my high school love affair.
