Nine types of living
There’s nine types of living if you wanna count
There’s the kind you live and just scream and shout
And you cry all night when the word gets out
Cause you’re too scared to live but not too scared to doubt
There’s the kind when you run in the middle of the night
Away from your fears, away from your frights
And you cower in the corner when they shine their lights
Cause you know you can’t stay, but don’t know which way is right
There’s the kind that you love with all of your heart
And you keep yourself together when you’re falling apart
Because you knew you loved her from the very start
And she says she loves you deeply, like a new piece of art
There’s the kind that you fight without a reason to live
Cause you’re already going and you might as well give
And in some forms of light you might look stiff
And they cry all the time but you already forgive
There’s the kind that take everything that you’re handed
Never worked a day in your life but you’ve already planned it
Got three or four houses just like you demanded
Your daddy gave you boats but you look as if you’re stranded
There’s the kind that you work for everything you own
Built yourself up from the ground, from what you’ve only known
And each day is a struggle, but you know you’ve grown
Never set a bad example, never had a weak bone
There’s the kind that makes a perfect family tree
Gave your all to the worker, and got everything you need
And you sit in the dark without a doubt of what you see
You know exactly where you’re going; you know exactly who you’ll be
There’s the kind that you joke about what you don’t get
Cause you’re too ignorant to ask for the perfect fit
And you shiver when you cold but don’t money for your debt
Just sit on your a**, and live each day as a bet
There’s the kind that you wish, and wish you may
And you get every morning with a clean slate each day
And you smile at a stranger and you shout and you say
“If there are nine types of living, I am living this way”
