Being Alone
The crickets are singing a happy song
I'm trying to sleep but can't help but hum along
It comforts me close as if to say,
That their lover, too, he is miles and miles away
Oh, what a strange scene to find tonight
As the stars flicker in and out of sight
I follow along to their steady beat
It's beating in tune to the crunch under my feet
And as the wind chimes in it's own sweet melody,
The birds awake too, and they start to sing...
"The Universe has lead you to this road
Stop looking for a constant home
'Cause if you listen, then you'll know
There's nothing wrong with being alone"
They say that distance makes the heart grow fonder
So I lay my head back, and my mind wanders
The thoughts run in deeper, and turn into ponders
"Will this journey make me stronger?"
You were never weak, you were only sad
Missing the things that you never had
It runs 'round in loops, till you go mad
But hey there, baby, it ain't so bad...
"The Universe has lead you to this road
Stop looking for a constant home
'Cause if you listen, then you'll know
There's nothing wrong with being alone"
