Pick up the Phone, It's Your Voicemail
Midnight strikes back as the stars begin to shine,
The city's falling asleep, but I can't get a wink.
You're in my head, running about my mind,
The telephone is ringing, hoping you'll pick up this time.
Every time I walk through this town,
I walk through these painful memories.
Everyday I live on,
I struggle to live at all.
Welcome me home again,
Answer my calls again,
Please just say it'll be okay again.
A dead dial, a busy signal,
My name appears on the caller ID,
and your phone jumps off it's hook.
Slam the phone and I gather myself in the booth
Wipe these tears from my eyes!
Make the laughter come back in my sides!
Allow me to sleep at night!
Fight for me! Fight with your life!
Every time I walk through this town,
I walk through these painful memories.
Everyday I live on,
I struggle to live at all.
Welcome me home again,
Answer my calls again,
Please just say it'll be okay again.
Give me bleach to drink,
I'll choke, but my mind will be unstained,
Removing your image from my brains.
Perhaps removing the air from my lungs,
Perhaps a chance I'm willing to take,
But I'll just keep leaving you these empty voicemails.
Maybe one day you'll pick up your phone,
Maybe one day you'll never leave me all alone,
Maybe one day....
One day.
