Pieces
When it’s all meaningless
You’re speaking gibberish for all I care
When it’s all lifeless
The night is cold and the world’s unfair
When you’re rounding the final counter on you way out of here
And you think it’s all over but baby this is all but cleared
You tore me apart
And threw away the pieces
Hold my un-beating heart
As it all fades to grey
With lips cold as stone
And a pulse quickly fading
Left to fend on my own again…
Would it be wishful?
To bite my lip and pray for peace
It’s just a vicious circle
We’re forced to stop, stall and repeat
And as you’re eyes watch the tears streaming down my face
It’s hard to believe the you I knew is in there, someplace
You tore me apart
And threw away the pieces
Hold my un-beating heart
As it all fades to grey
With lips cold as stone
And a pulse quickly fading
Left to fend on my own again…
You weren’t there, and you’re never going to be
You’re not the same person I thought I could see
And like glass, scatter across the floor
Your leaving cuts, in my soul
Your leaving cuts, in my soul
You tore me apart
And threw away the pieces
Hold my un-beating heart
As it all fades to grey
With lips cold as stone
And a pulse quickly fading
Left to fend on my own again…
You tore me apart
And threw away the pieces
Hold my un-beating heart
As it all fades to grey
With lips cold as stone
And a pulse quickly fading
Left to fend on my own again…
