I know the difference
I know the difference
If he died tomorrow, of course I'd be sad
but not like if he died tomorrow,
I'd cry every tear out of my eyes
I know the difference
between the man I loved
and the man I love
I know my heart would break if he left
But it wouldn't if he did
I know the difference
between the past and the present
And I know who I love
And I know love doesn't last forever
in a heart traveled far from another
And I know who I love
I know that love can be beaten out of a head
that said yes then no
again and again and again and again
My heart belongs to him
My dreams tell me this
sweating with worries and fear he might leave
It is dried up and gone
Doesn't matter no longer
He matters
He matters
He matters
If it shattered, I'd fall apart
But what doesn't matter is gone
That doesn't break my heart
