My Amazing Race
No longer is my face streaked with tears,
I’ve learned not to face my fears.
I’m going far away,
Leaving without a delay.
Spontaneity takes the lead,
A new path to follow, a new creed.
No longer do I linger in the past,
I hope these memories will last.
I’m going on an amazing race,
Not stopping or changing pace.
I have to get out of this place,
No longer will I use predictability as a brace.
Although my dreams involve flying high,
I have always hated saying goodbye.
The tearful partings are always tough,
And in my life I’ve had enough.
I’m going on an amazing race,
Not stopping or changing pace.
I have to get out of this place,
No longer will I use predictability as a brace.
Again these fears of parting keep me here
Locked in place, unable to move
Where I know you’ll always be near
These thoughts of you I can’t remove
I’m going on an amazing race,
Not stopping or changing pace.
I have to get out of this place,
No longer will I use predictability as a brace.
I must stay, for my hearts sake,
For I cannot handle another break.
This journey had ended before it begun,
Once again things come undone.
There goes my amazing race,
I can’t even stop, there was no pace.
I have no choice but to stay in place,
Once again, predictability is my brace.
